EUREKA SPRINGS (KFSM) – A petition seeking an apology for a Eureka Springs church that says it was kicked out of the town’s 2015 Easter Parade has received more than 16,000 signatures.

Members of the First United Methodist Church in Eureka Springs say they were barred from the 2015 Easter Parade because they wanted to carry a banner reading, “Jesus loves all.”

The church has been in Eureka Springs for 136 years and includes members of the LGBT community within its congregation, according to the petition on FaithfulAmerica.Org.

The petition requests that parade organizers apologize to the church and invite them to the 2016 Easter Parade.

As of Wednesday evening (April 8) at 6 p.m., the petition had received 16,370 signatures.
