School Employee Facing Sexual Assault Charges

HUNTSVILLE (KFSM) – A school employee is facing felony charges on suspicion of sexual assault, according to an arrest report from Madison County.

James Daniel Jones of Huntsville was arrested Friday (April 10) after police say school officials received a complaint from the parents of two girls ages 13 and 14-years-old, that their daughters had been contacted on Instagram and were being messaged by a school employee they identified as Jones, according to the report.

The report states that through an investigation, police revealed that Jones used an online alias of “dirtydax12” on Instagram and messaged the teenage girls, speaking in sexually explicit terminology and sent them nude photographs of himself.

Jones admitted the conversations were of a sexual nature and he had asked to meet but never planned on carrying out the meeting, according to the police report.

Jones is facing several charges including, sexual indecency with a child, 1st-degree sexual assault and sexually grooming a child.

Jones is being held at the Washington County Jail on a $15,000 bond. His next court date is set for Monday (April 13), according to dispatch. His arraignment is set for June 2.
