POCOLA (KFSM)- The Pocola Police Department is investigating allegations made against a school employee, according to the school district superintendent.

Superintendent Monty Guthrie said the first allegation against the employee was made Tuesday (April 14) afternoon and the employee resigned on Wednesday (April 15).

Guthrie said he's held meeting regarding the allegations and said he notified police immediately after being made aware of the allegations.

Parents, like Mecca Crocket, said the investigation and the employee's resignation have her concerned. She's live in Pocola for 10 years and has two children who attend Pocola schools.

"That's absolutely terrifying," Crockett said. "Obviously it had to be something bad if they're going to up and quit."

Matt Morgan has a child that's about to attend Pocola schools as well.

"I'd probably consider other options and check the school out for myself and see how the teachers are," Morgan said.

Citing the ongoing investigation and confidentiality rights of employees, Guthrie declined to discuss the name and position of the employee or whether that person is a man or a woman.

Guthrie said no arrests have been made so far and the Pocola Police Chief said he would be releasing more information in the coming days.
