SPRINGDALE (KFSM) – The Northwest Arkansas Naturals hosted their home opener on Thursday (Apr. 16) night, at Arvest Ball Park.
Mike Cassels said being out at the ballpark reminds him of his youth.
"I grew up playing baseball, I enjoy the atmosphere primarily, " Cassels said.
There was plenty of youth at the game.
A local elementary school used opening day to give moms a day out with their sons.
"[The game is] just a great opportunity for the moms and sons to have an opportunity, because the dads and daughters have a dance,” said Tanya Prince.
Dylan Prince went to the game with his mom, and classmates.
"I love to come out and be with my friends and have fun,” Dylan Prince said. “You know, watch it, and be with my family. It's so much fun.”
The game was one of the many amenities offered to fans. Many fans who spoke to 5NEWS said they were looking forwards to enjoying the food as well.
The end of the night was tipped off by fireworks, which Kirees Sampson said was his favorite part.
"Probably because I don't get to see them often," Sampson said.
