SPRINGDALE (KFSM) - A Springdale Deputy City Attorney said she was "attacked" by a now-suspended ESPN Reporter in March before a viral video was released showing that same ESPN reporter berating a towing company lot attendant.
In a blog post on March 13, Sparkman said she "was attacked by an ESPN reporter for wanting equal treatment of women."
The blog post states Sparkman tweeted that she wished there were more women in sports broadcasting that weren't completely sexualized.
Britt McHenry, the suspended ESPN reporter, then tweeted her asking what was wrong with a woman wanting to look nice and be intelligent. Sparkman clarified that she had no issue with beautiful women in sports media and said she took issue with how they were sexualized.
The two continued to tweet each other with the discussion intensifying.
At one point, McHenry tweeted at Sparkman, "So you're being more of a hater than the men themselves? I am too, and I dislike that stereotype being perpetuated."
Sparkman eventually tweeted, "Man, I swear I can't give an opinion without some rando on Twitter seeking me out and bashing their misinterpretation."
McHenry responded to that tweet as well, saying that between the two girls Sparkman was the "rando," and she sounded "bitter." She ended her last tweet saying, "If you work as hard as you say you do, you wouldn't bash more successful people on Twitter."
