FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM)- Fayetteville Police arrested a woman on suspicion of kidnapping a realtor at gunpoint Friday (April 24) morning.

Amilya Barcenas, 25, is facing charges of kidnapping, aggravated robbery and criminal mischief, according to an arrest report.

Police were notified at about 9:30 a.m. by a homeowner on Edgewater Drive that a woman had come to his house saying the suspect had pulled a gun on her and attempted to rob her, the report states.

The victim told police she had an appointment with a woman named "Makayla" to show her a house on Hidden Creek Drive, according to the report. The victim said she was preparing paperwork when "Makayla" pulled a gun out of a diaper bag and pointed it at her, the report states.

"Makayla" threw a zip tie on the counter and told the victim to tie herself with it because she needed to go to an ATM to withdraw some money, according to the report. The victim refused and pleaded with "Makayla" to put the gun away, the report states. When the suspect briefly set the gun down, the victim ran from the home to a house on Edgewater Drive, according to the report.

Officers got a physical and clothing description from the victim and began searching the neighborhood for the suspect, the report states. Police eventually found a man and woman driving slowly through the neighborhood where the incident happened. The driver told officers the woman in his vehicle had come to his house asking for help finding her husband and child, according to the report.

The woman said her name was Amilya Barcenas and she was in the area looking at houses for sale, the report states. She told officers that she had asked the man driving the vehicle for help because she forgot where she had parked her car, according to the report.

According to police, Barcenas was wearing clothes similar to the description given by the victim and was also carrying a diaper bag. Inside the bag officers found more clothing matching the victim's description along with a loaded .38 revolver, the report states. The victim also identified the suspect as the woman who pointed the gun at her, according to the report.

Barcenas was booked into the Washington County Detention Center and has a court date scheduled for April 27, according to jail records.

Fayetteville Schools spokesman Alan Wilbourn tells 5NEWS the nearby Holt Elementary School was placed on lockdown while police searched for the suspect.
