Fayetteville Baseball Undefeated In 7A-West Since 2012

The Fayetteville High School baseball team has not lost a conference game since their 2012 season, giving them 37 straight 7A West wins.

FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) - When it comes to Fayetteville athletics you can expect winning. But, winning is an understatement for the Bulldog baseball team.

"We play in the toughest conference in Arkansas in the 7-A West, so every year is a challenge," Fayetteville coach Vance Arnold said. "Every week we go out and compete at our best, and we expect to finish out the season the same way."

Even though it is one of the toughest conferences in the state, the Bulldogs have not lost a conference matchup since the 2012 season, going into their game against Har-Ber Tuesday with 37 straight 7-A West wins.

"I think it's that this conference is so good, we have to come ready to play every single conference game," senior shortstop Drew Tyler said. "And it just continues to make us better with the competition that we're playing."

"It's very challenging," senior pitcher John Boushelle said. "There's a lot of great players, a lot of great teams. Our conference is really though, so we have to go out and play to the best of our abilities each game."

But, what has given this team such an upper hand to dominate year after year? To these guys it's one thing.

"Our team's been together a long time obviously. The senior class, we've played together since we were 12 years-old," Tyler said.

It's the bond they share.

"We all need to be close so we can pick each other up. So when someone's down, we can't have that person effect the rest of the team. So we usually just pick each other up, and get right back at it," Boushelle said.

They don't plan on dropping their losing streak any time soon.

"The hard work will continue. I think Fayetteville will keep this tradition going. Fayetteville baseball will continue to be good," Tyler said.
