HOOVER, Ala. (KFSM) – It was a new series but it was the same result for the Arkansas Razorbacks.

The Razorbacks won their sixth straight SEC series as they rolled over Alabama for an 8-4 win at Hoover’s Metropolitan Stadium.

Alabama took a 2-0 lead in third but a five run fifth inning put Arkansas in front for good. Joe Serrano delivered the first blow of the inning as his two run double to left gave the Hogs a 4-2 lead then Tyler Spoon followed with a two run single to left to push the Razorbacks’ advantage to four.

The Crimson Tide’s starter Jake Walters was chased in that fifth inning and was charged with six runs on six hits and walk five in just four and 1/3 innings of work. Arkansas’s Dominic Taccolini, too, had a short outing as he lasted just four innings after walking five but allowed just two runs on three hits and struck out six.

Serrano led the Arkansas offense as he picked up a pair of hits and drove in three runs while Spoon added three RBI. Clark Eagan also had a pair of hits and scored three runs from the leadoff spot.

Arkansas will go for the series sweep tomorrow (May 2) with first pitch set for noon.
