FORT SMITH (KFSM) -- Bikers flooded Garrison Ave. Saturday (May 2) for the final night of the inaugural Steel Horse Rally.

There was a lot more to do than cruise around town, though. More than 20 vendors were selling items like jewelry, t-shirts and hats. Some people got tattoos at the rally, while others enjoyed relaxing and listening to live music on the Arkansas River.

Some people said they expect the event to get bigger in years to come.

"[I'm] seeing a lot of different people coming in from out of town. Hopefully this starts sowing the seeds to make it a big event," John Portz said. "The first time is always kind of -- you never know. But we're in the middle of the United States, so I think from every direction, it's drawing a big crowd."

Organizers said at least 3,000 bikers were at the rally.
