DELAWARE COUNTY (KFSM) – A Delaware County man died on May 5 after losing control of his riding lawn mower, going down a 70-foot embankment and falling off a seven-foot retaining wall, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Christopher Tribbey, 39, of Wyandotte died at the accident area due to “massive injuries,” authorities said.

He was mowing a private residence when he lost control of the Kubuta riding lawn mower, went down a 70-foot hill, fell off a seven-foot retaining wall and came to rest with the mower on top of him, according to police.

The incident took place around 6:15 p.m. near Grove on Delaware County Road South 595, according to a crash report.

The condition of Tribbey at the time of the incident was normal, authorities said.
