ARKANSAS (KFSM) – The Natural State ranked at 33 on a 2015 list of the best and worst states for business, according to a report from Chief Executive.

In the 2014 list, Arkansas ranked 29, the report states.

The list was created from an annual survey issued by Chief Executive to 511 CEOs across the U.S.

States are measured based upon three categories to get their ranking. Those categories are:

  • Taxes and regulations
  • Quality of the workforce
  • Living environment (which includes factors like quality of education, cost of living, affordable housing, crime rates and more)

Oklahoma came in at number 16 on the list. The Sooner State ranked at 20 on the 2014 list, the report states.

According to Chief Executive’s rankings, Texas is the best state for business in 2015 (and it has been every year since the survey was started 11  years ago). California is the worst state for business, according to the report.

Chief Executive magazine has been published for more than 30 years. The company works to help CEOs do their jobs better so they can benefit their customers, employees and shareholders, according to their website.
