ROGERS (KFSM) – A Rogers firefighter is injured after a vacant house went up in flames early Monday morning (May 11), according to Rogers Fire Chief Tom Jenkins.

At least 29 firefighters have been battling the flames at the house at 2605 Dogwood Street since 3 a.m., Chief Jenkins said. This, after two neighbors called to report smoke in the area overnight.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time; however, Chief Jenkins did say with storms in the area, it is possible that lightning struck the house and caused the fire.

The name of the firefighter injured is not being released at this time.
