ROGERS (KFSM) – A Rogers man was arrested on May 7 on suspicion of raping an eight-year-old boy, authorities say.
Chad Kidd, 25, was booked into the Benton County Detention Center on May 7 and faces charges of rape and indecent exposure, according to jail records.
On April 20 at 2:17 p.m., an officer with the Rogers Police Department interviewed the victim who said that he was raped by Kidd, according to an arrest report. The victim told police he was forced to touch Kidd inappropriately, according to authorities.
Police said Kidd also raped the eight-year-old boy and touched himself inappropriately in front of the victim.
Investigators learned that Kidd was accused twice of indecent exposure in the past, according to the arrest report. Police noted in their report that Kidd had told investigators after being arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure that he touched himself inappropriately in public for “the thrill of being caught.”
In February, an eyewitness reported to police that a man was seen touching himself at Lake Atalanta in Rogers, the report states. That eyewitness named Kidd as the individual he saw touching himself inappropriately at the lake, authorities said.
On April 21 at 1:10 p.m., authorities interviewed Kidd, and he denied raping the victim and doing anything appropriate in front of him, the report states. Kidd also said he was willing to take a polygraph and was mostly sure he would pass, according to authorities.
An arrest warrant was later issued for Kidd, and he was taken into custody.
His bond has been set at $50,000, and his court date was scheduled for June 15, according to jail records.
