ROGERS (KFSM) – State Rep. Jana Della Rosa said Tuesday (May 12) she is seeking re-election to her House District 90 seat in Benton County.

The Rogers Republican, who was first elected in 2014,  said she still has a lot of work to do at the Legislature on issues of campaign finance transparency. A transparency measure she sponsored in this year’s legislative session failed on the House floor. Della Rosa said if re-elected she will work to pass several transparency measures, including one allowing candidates to file their campaign finance statements online.

Della Rosa, 38, is the only announced candidate to date in the district. The general election is in November 2016.

District 90 includes parts of Rogers, Lowell, Bethel Heights, Springdale and Cave Springs.

Della Rosa’s mother, Patsy Wootton of Springdale, is executive director of Conservative Arkansas, a political action committee based in Springdale.

Della Rosa is the second person in Northwest Arkansas in recent weeks to declare their candidacy for a state House seat.

Former Washington County Assessor Jeff Williams, a Republican, told 5NEWS he is running for the Springdale seat now held by Rep. Micah Neal, also a Republican.

Neal is running for Washington County judge in the 2016 election. Judge Marilyn Edwards, a Democrat, has said she is not going to run for re-election.
