Bulldogs plate 10 in rout of No. 20 Razorbacks

ATHENS, GA (KFSM) – Arkansas was hoping for a good showing in the final series of the regular season to boost their postseason resume.

The Razorbacks, who were thought to have an outside chance of hosting a NCAA regional, was pounded 10-1 in the SEC series opener by a Bulldogs team that came into the series in 12th place in the SEC standings.

Georgia plated four runs in the first and added a run in the second as they quickly put the Hogs on their heels. The Bulldogs then added five more runs in the seventh to blow the game open.

Defensive woes cost Arkansas early as they committed three errors while starter Trey Killian was charged with four earned runs in five innings of work after walking four and allowed six hits.

David Sosebee picked up the win for the Bulldogs as he allowed just one run in seven innings and struck out seven.

Arkansas will try to even the series on Friday as first pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m.
