WEST VIRGINIA (HAMPSHIRE REVIEW) – A West Virginia teacher was suspended on Monday evening (May 18) after showing part of the “Fifty Shades of Grey” film, according to a report from the Hampshire Review.

Kristie Long, a health occupations instructor for the school, was asked to show the movie by a small group of junior and senior girls.

Long told school officials that she had no idea of the context of the popular erotic movie.

After the movie started, the school’s principal was alerted and stopped it before 10 minutes of the film had played.

The school board suspended the teacher without pay for the remainder of the year.
