Hoover, Ala (KFSM)- The Arkansas baseball team fell behind early Thursday evening and never recovered, losing 10-5 to top-ranked LSU in the third round of the SEC Tournament at the Hoover Met.

The Hogs committed a season-high six errors. That led to seven unearned runs for the Tigers.

LSU capitalized in the first inning using three hits, three stolen bases and benefiting from three errors to take a 4-0 lead.

The Tigers added two more runs in the second inning before Arkansas came storming back in its half of the frame, scoring four runs thanks to RBI hits from Michael Bernal, Clark Eagan and Joe Serrano to make it 6-4.

The two-run deficit would be as close as Arkansas would come, as LSU scored two runs in the fourth and two more in the seventh to take a 10-4 lead. The Razorbacks added a single run in the seventh on a Tyler Spoon RBI single, but the Tigers held on for the five-run victory.

Arkansas moves on to Friday’s elimination game and a rematch with seventh-ranked Florida. The Razorbacks and Gators will play at 6:30 p.m. with the winner moving on to play LSU on Saturday in the semifinals.
