MULDROW (KFSM)- An Oklahoma man was arrested Tuesday (May 26) on suspicion of burglarizing three properties near Muldrow, according to the Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Office.

Colton Williams, 24, of Keota, Oklahoma is facing several charges related to the crimes.

Sheriff Ron Lockhart said the sheriff’s office was called to a home south of Muldrow at around 10:30 a.m. for a report of man who had kicked in the door to the house while the owner was inside. The victim said he chased the suspect through the house until he fled into a wooded area, according Lockhart. The victim also realized the suspect had broken into his vehicle and attempted to steal it, Lockhart said.

About three hours later, the sheriff’s office got another call regarding a man who was trying to steal a woman’s vehicle less than a quarter mile away from the first burglary, according to Lockhart.

When deputies confronted the suspect he pulled out a shotgun and fled into a wooded area, Lockhart said. Deputies and the Muldrow Police Department set up a perimeter and pursued the suspect until he jumped into a large pond and refused to come out, according to Lockhart. Deputies eventually placed Williams under arrest, Lockhart said.

After the arrest, investigators found items in Williams’ possession that led them to a third burglary where the firearms were stolen, according to Lockhart.
