BENTONVILLE (KFSM)- Thursday (May 28) storms left their mark on parts of Northwest Arkansas and Talihina, Oklahoma.

The storms moved into the area late morning and early afternoon.

At an Angus farm on Peach Orchard Road in Bentonville the storms blew off part of a tin roof on one of the barns. Kirk Decker, who works on the farm, said he watched it happen right in front of him.

"I walked over to the corner. It was raining real hard, and I could see the wind change direction," Decker said. "About that time I just saw a funnel cloud pick up and hit the barn. I saw a little tin fly up and next thing I know, it's gone."

5NEWS Meteorologist Garrett Lewis said it's possible there was a brief spin-up in the storm system, but it's unlikely that what Decker saw was a full-fledged tornado. The National Weather Service said it would take another look at their data from Thursday's system.

The storms' aftermath was also noticeable in Highfill where the system snapped some trees in half and ripped branch off others at the city park.

The National Weather Service is also planning to visit Talihina, Oklahoma where residents are reporting damage. Below are photos of a home that had its roof torn off.
