FORT SMITH (KFSM) - A dragon boat festival not seen before in Northwest Arkansas or the River Valley is coming to Fort Smith in October to benefit the Hamilton House. But first, organizers are in need of business sponsors and teams.
For a "5NEWS This Morning" segment that aired Sunday (May 31), anchor Daren Bobb spoke to David Burton with the River Valley Dragon Boat Festival. The event isn't scheduled to happen until October 10, but 21 teams need to be set up by the June deadline.
This event will be one of the biggest fundraisers for the Hamilton House Child and Family Safety Center, a national non-profit with a chapter in Fort Smith.
