Cops On Bulls

FORT SMITH (KFSM)-Law enforcement from across the state did some bull riding at Kay Rodgers Park on Saturday (June 6).

The fourth annual Cops on Bulls helped raise money for the Make a Wish Foundation. For the last three years the event was held in Benton, Arkansas, organizers said. Five kids had their wishes granted before the crowd inside Harpers Stadium.

Admission to the event was $5, and all the proceeds raised will help grant wishes for kids in Western Arkansas. Participant Jay Thompson is a major for Arkansas State Police in Little Rock.

“Make a Wish provides kids that are dealing with life threatening situations the opportunity to get their mind off all these special treatments that they’ve been having,” he said. “These kids have gone through a lot, and so they can come out here to an event like this and forget about all those treatments and forget about the pain that they’re going through.”

Before the main event, Alma’s Mayor Keith Greene braved the dunking booth. There was also a car and motorcycle show in the parking lot.

The event was sponsored by Arkansas Truck Center.
