POPE COUNTY (KFSM) – A Pope County man was arrested on suspicion of bestiality on Wednesday (June 10), authorities say.
Jonathan Ford was booked into the Pope County Detention Center on Wednesday and faces a charge of bestiality, according to jail records.
The Pope County Sheriff’s Office said it took a report of a man engaging in a sexual act with an animal. After investigating the incident and consulting with Pope County Prosecuting Attorney David Gibbons, Ford was taken into custody.
The animal in question was given to a local shelter, according to a news release.
Deputies said the investigation is ongoing, and more charges are possible.
