FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) – Two University of Arkansas police officers used CPR to save a staff member’s life on Thursday (June 11), authorities say.

The two officers were identified as Cpl. Waddell and Officer P. Edwards, according to the University of Arkansas Police Department.

Waddell and Edwards used both CPR and a defibrillator to save the unnamed staff member’s life, according to a post on the department’s Facebook page.

Police said the woman was 49 and works in an administrative position. The incident took place at the Arkansas Union building, according to police.

The staff member’s situation was described as “very stressful,” the post states.

“We would like to recognize Corporal Waddell and Corporal P. Edwards by sending them our utmost appreciation,” the department said.

After the officers saved the woman, she was taken to a local hospital and was still alive as of Friday morning (June 12), according to authorities.
