SPRINGDALE (KFSM) – Funeral arrangements have been set for a young boy who died following a pool accident at an apartment complex in Springdale.
The funeral for 8-year-old Deyonte Walker will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday (June 17) at Westfield Chapel in Springdale, according to the funeral home’s website.
Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock confirmed on Sunday (June 14) that Walker died.
The boy was taken to the hospital after being pulled from a pool at Keystone Crossing Apartments in Springdale on Tuesday (June 9), according to the Springdale Fire Department.
According to a GoFundMe account set up for Walker, the boy’s family will be donating his organs.
“I am extremely proud of my son Patrick and Daughter-in-love Hannah for making the extremely difficult decision to allow Deyonte to be the super hero he wanted to be through organ donation. The harvest team has been hard at work this morning providing this wonderful gift to deserving families who will get their miracles today.”
