JACKSONVILLE (KTHV) – The suspected Little Rock Air Force Base gunman died overnight.
FBI investigators confirmed Larry McElroy’s death mid-Wednesday morning. He had been in critical condition at a hospital after being shot by LRAFB security Monday.
McElroy reportedly brandished a firearm at the base’s main gate Monday, prompting the entire base to go on lockdown for about three hours.
So far, investigators have not released a motive in the incident, but they did say McElroy had an extensive criminal history and a record of police responding to his home seven times in the past eight years.
