FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) - The Fayetteville City Council voted on June 16th in favor of putting
a new Civil Rights Ordinance before voters
in a special election scheduled for September. Lawmakers said the law has several changes in comparison to the one voters repealed last year. But one person seriously disagreed.

For a "5NEWS This Morning" segment that aired Sunday (June 28), managing editor Larry Henry spoke to Duncan Campbell who found several issues with the new ordinance, saying a florist will have to sell to a gay couple. Duncan also said a state law was enacted in February preventing cities in the Natural State from passing non-discrimination ordinances, a law that went into effect without Gov. Asa Hutchinson's signature.

Last week, Henry spoke to Alderman Matthew Petty who said this law is different from the previous one.
