VAN BUREN (KFSM) - Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson will be sitting down with leaders in Van Buren Tuesday (July7) to hear about the growth of the city. This is happening as Mayor Bob Freeman hosts his annual prayer luncheon.

Gov. Hutchinson is expected to talk about how faith has played a large role in his life at Tuesday's luncheon. Mayor Freeman also expected to give his testimony at the luncheon. This is the 11th year for the event.

This year it's all being put on by Sparks Medical Center and the Van Buren Kiwanis Club.

The two groups said they teamed up for the event to let the public get a better idea of who the mayor and other area leaders are.

The money raised from Tuesday's luncheon goes back to the Kiwanis Club which sponsors events for youth in need in Van Buren. The club does all sorts of things from taking the kids to the movies, to shopping with them at Christmas time.

The luncheon will be at the Van Buren High School. People will start arriving at 11:30. Tickets are still available for $20.

You can buy your tickets at city hall or at the door.
