WEST FORK (KFSM) – Heavy rain throughout Tuesday (July 7) caused the West Fork Police Department to close down certain roads and parks.

The Riverside Park, near Highway 71, was closed for most of the day, after water levels in streams flooded local parks and parking lots.

For a portion of the day, police were monitoring certain locations that led into flooded areas, to make sure other civilians did not attempt to enter the flooded zone.

At one point, the Washington County Swift Water Rescue Team was called to West Fork. However, the boat was never deployed, after those who called for help were able to find safety.
