ROGERS (KFSM)- Large portions of Lake Atalanta will be closed starting July 13 for construction and park improvements.
The city anticipates the construction will take up to a year to complete and the park is scheduled to reopen in summer 2016.
Facilities Development Manager David Hook said the road around the lake and the parking lot nearby will be closed. The improvements include a concrete walking trail that will replace the road and a new playground area, Hook said.
According to Hook, most of the mountain bike trail that goes around Lake Atalanta will remain open during construction.
