SILOAM SPRINGS (KFSM) - A Siloam Springs man has been arrested on suspicion of several counts of child porn possession.

Douglas Rudig, 31, was booked at the Benton County Detention Center on Monday morning (July 6).

The Benton County Sheriff's Office received an online tip via email and obtained search warrant.

After investigating Rudig's search history on his computer and reviewing software,  officials requested an arrest warrant be issued for distributing, possessing or viewing child pornography.

“Once we get the information that somebody has downloaded, or is in possession of, child pornography, we will seek out to start the ball rolling. So the ball starts with getting the subpoena for the IP address,” said Sgt. Mike Lira, with the Benton County Sheriff's office.

Lira credited his team with the success of the raid.

“Detective [Dennis] Schumacher, and Detective Olin Rankin in our division, they’re in charge with dealing with cell phones, to computers, to anything that can access images," Lira said. "And, they help all agencies throughout the Benton County area. [One] probably would say this is the best lab in the state of Arkansas.”

The search by Benton County officials also uncovered a history of animal pornography.

His surety bond has been set at $5,000.

Rudig's next court date is scheduled for Aug. 17.
