BENTON COUNTY (KFSM) – A Springdale man was arrested on Monday (July 6) after deputies say they caught him hiding $30,000 worth of methamphetamine in a storage unit in Bethel Heights.

Jesus Valenzuela-Cruz, 41, was booked into the Benton County Jail and faces a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a news release. In addition to the drug paraphernalia charge, Valenzuela-Cruz also faces pending federal charges.

On Monday, authorities stopped Valenzuela-Cruz’s vehicle after it left a storage unit.

Drug paraphernalia and scales were found in the vehicle, and 300 grams of meth was found in the storage unit, deputies said.

In addition to the meth, two hand guns (one stolen from Rogers) were found in the unit with several rounds of ammunition, the release states.

As of Thursday (July 9) at 11 a.m., no bond has been set for Valenzuela-Cruz. His first hearing is scheduled for Aug. 17, according to jail records.
