SPRINGDALE (KFSM) – A man accused of masturbating in public was taken into custody by the Springdale Police Department on Saturday (July 11).
Michael Merworth, 60, of Rogers was booked into the Washington County Detention Center on Saturday at 1:52 a.m. and faces a charge of sexual indecency with a child, according to jail records.
On June 11, Merworth was seen masturbating in public, police said. Authorities released a photograph of him on June 17, asking for the public’s help in identifying him.
After receiving several tips, police identified Merworth as the suspect and took him into custody.
His bond was set at $10,000, and he bonded out of jail on Saturday at 3:22 a.m., according to jail records.
His first hearing is scheduled for July 27 at 7:45 a.m., authorities said.
