FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM)- A Fayetteville man was arrested Wednesday (July 15) on suspicion of possessing and viewing child pornography, according to a probable cause affidavit filed with the Washington County prosecutor’s office.

Anthony Webster, 29, is being held at the Washington County Detention Center, records show.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office began investigating the case in June 2015 after a detective located a computer, later linked to Webster, that was making numerous files of child pornography available for download, according to the affidavit. Many of the files names were consistent with child pornography such as “toddler,” “baby” and “10yr old,” the affidavit states.

On Wednesday, members of the Northwest Arkansas Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and agents from Homeland Security Investigations executed a search warrant on Webster’s home, according to the affidavit. Webster was questioned and admitted to viewing child pornography during the downloading process before canceling the download before it was finished, the affidavit states.

Webster told investigators he had a problem with child pornography since he was 18 and said he views it about every other day, according to the affidavit.

Webster’s first court appearance is scheduled for July 17, jail records show.
