FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) – The preseason honors continue to pile up for one of the most dynamic running back combinations in the country.

Arkansas running backs Alex Collins and Jonathan Williams were both named to the Doak Walker Award watch list on Thursday. The award is presented to the nation’s best running back each season.

The addition to the Walker watch list comes eight days after both players were named to the Maxwell Award watch list.

Williams is entering his senior season after rushing for 1,190 yards and 12 touchdowns last season and has more than 2,000 yards in his career. Junior Alex Collins will be looking for his third straight 1,000 yard season after eclipsing the mark in each of his first two years with the Razorbacks.

In all, 69 running backs were named to the preseason watch list including Oklahoma running back Semaje Perine who broke the single game rushing record in NCAA history as he ran for 427 yards against Kansas last season. The sophomore ran for more than 1,700 yards as a true freshman for the Sooners in 2014.
