FORT SMITH (KFSM) — A busy intersection in Fort Smith is reopened after flash flooding hit the area.
Dispatchers with Fort Smith Police said the call came in around 6:20 a.m. Tuesday (July 21) to close the intersection of Old Greenwood Road and Savannah Street along Highway 45.
The water receded and the road was reopened around 7:30 a.m.
Savannah Street is the road that runs along the Fort Smith Regional Airport.
Fort Smith Police were directing traffic through the area.
Dispatchers said that two vehicles were stalled in the flood waters earlier this morning. No one was injured.
