The first cidery in Arkansas opened its door Saturday, July 25 in downtown Springdale.
The business is called Black Apple Crossing and is located at 321 E. Emma Avenue.
One of the owners, Leo Oprin, said they bought the 8,000 sq. ft. building in February 2015. They had their grand opening at 11 a.m. Saturday.
He said they are currently serving four different ciders, but said the flavors and quantity will change with the seasons.
Orpin said he is happy his business is making waves in the industry and in the area.
"It's a first in many ways, it's the first cidery in the state, it's the first place to go after 5 in downtown Springdale, and downtown Springdale is going through this awesome revitalization, and so that's kind of our take on it we want to be the reason you hang around," Orpin said.
Black Apple Crossing is open Thursday and Friday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. It's open Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The outdoor patio area is dog-friendly.
