WASHINGTON COUNTY (KFSM) -- Construction on I-49 between the Fulbright Expressway and US Highway 412 Interchange will be going on until the second week in August as crews work to widen I-49 to three lanes in the median area.
Crews were out at 9 p.m. last night as they started shifting the lanes around. Now the lanes are reduced by about a foot, so instead of two 12 foot lanes, there will be two 11 foot lanes.
The project will take two and a half years to complete and should be finished by early 2018.
