WASHINGTON, D.C., (KFSM) – Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., cosponsored a bill to defund Planned Parenthood on Tuesday (July 28).

The Republican senator joined with 23 other senators to introduce the legislation, according to a post on his website.

“Words are limiting to try to express the moral shock we feel when confronted by behavior so abhorrent as selling dead baby body parts for profit. But where words fall short I’m hopeful that we can be united in action: we must put an end to the federal funding of Planned Parenthood. Arkansans’ tax dollars should not be supporting an organization that condones the activity we’ve seen in the videos released this week,” Cotton said.

The bill  is known as S.1881, and it comes after two videos have been released by an anti-abortion group that accuses Planned Parenthood of selling organs and tissue from aborted fetuses for profit.

On Wednesday (July 22), Cotton and Sen. John Boozman, R-Ark., called for an investigation into Planned Parenthood. They signed a letter along with 48 other senators calling for the investigation.
