Fayetteville Police Investigate Body Found In Burned Car

FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM)- The Fayetteville Police Department is conducting a death investigation after police and the fire department found a body in the driver’s seat of a burning car Monday (August 3), according to a release from the police department.

At about 3 a.m., the police and fire departments responded to a car on fire at the On The Mark Sports Bar and Grill located at 2588 N. Gregg Ave., the release states. After extinguishing the fire, first responders found a body in the driver’s seat, according to the release.

According to police, the victim is a man, but the body is being sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy to determine his identity and cause of death. The Fayetteville Fire Marshal’s Office is also conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the car fire, according to the release.
