ROGERS (KFSM) –The Rogers Police Department has made two arrests in connection with the criminal mischief at the Mount Hebron Methodist Church, according to a release from the police department.

Jacob Bilyeu, 18, was arrested July 31, 2015, on suspicion of criminal mischief and breaking or entering the church. He was already detained at the Benton County Sheriff’s Office for previous charges and is in custody at the Benton County Jail.

On August 4, a 17-year-old-male was also arrested for criminal mischief. The release stated the juvenile was released to his parents.

According to the release, “On July 13, 2015, the Rogers Police Department responded to 6039 Mount Hebron Road, Mount Hebron Church, for a criminal mischief complaint in which five windows in the church had been broken. The Mount Hebron Church is on the National Historic Building Registry and any repairs made to the building have to be with the same type of material originally used. The windows were estimated to cost around $2000 each to replace.”

Again on July 17, “the Rogers Police Department responded again to the Mount Hebron Church for another report of criminal mischief in which three more windows had been broken.”

Benton County Prosecuting Attorney Nathan Smith said charges have not been filed yet in the case of Bilyeu.
