FORT SMITH (KFSM) -- Students going to the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith started moving into their dorms Friday (August 14).

Hundreds of students will be unpacking their bedding, clothes, and supplies all weekend long.

Students living in the Lion's Den Housing at the corner of Waldron Road and Kinkead Avenue need to first check-in using their student IDs at the South Lion's Den building to get an orange parking pass.

There are also volunteers available in parking lot H to help students move into their dorms. The volunteers have carts, wagons and dollies to make moving bigger items easier.

School leaders want to remind families and students that it is going to be busy and there will be long lines throughout the day. Students will be moving into their dorms throughout the weekend and have to be moved in by Sunday. Volunteer help will be available from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Unassisted move in at the University of Arkansas campus in Fayetteville begins Saturday and assisted move in will be Monday.
