Springdale High Student Charged With Attempted Capital Murder In Shooting

SPRINGDALE (KFSM) — A Springdale High School student was charged as an adult with attempted capital murder Monday (August 24) in connection with a shooting that injured a 16-year-old boy, according to documents filed with the Washington County prosecutor’s office.

The suspect, Cristopher Nicasio, 17, was arrested August 19, shortly after the shooting outside a business at 402 S. Thompson St. about a block south of the Springdale High School campus, police reports state.

Police said the victim is also a student at Springdale High School and was taken to Northwest Medical Center, across the street from where he was shot, to be treated for his injuries. The victim’s name and condition have not been released, but documents from the prosecutor’s office state the victim was shot three times in the head, back and elbow.
