FORT SMITH (KFSM)–Dozens of people made their way out to River City Deli Saturday (August 29) for a pancake breakfast all in support of a good cause.

Patrons could enjoy pancakes made from scratch for $10 a plate. Event organizers said a percentage of the money will go back to the Ozark affiliate of Susan G. Komen.

“With Komen, 75-percent of the funds we raise stay local, and that’s a really unique thing for any organization that’s the size of ours to say that the lion share of our funds that we raise do stay local to provide those lifesaving services,” Teresa Jones said.

This is the second year the event has been held. The breakfast went from 8-10 a.m.

Jones said the next big event is Paint the Park Pink on Saturday, October 3. To register, click here.
