PANAMA (KFSM) — School officials said Panama Middle and High School was placed on a lockdown after police conducted a drug search at a nearby house.

The search has concluded and the lockdown has been lifted, according to the Panama Police Department.

Superintendent Grant Ralls said the move strictly out of precaution, so the middle and high school were temporarily locked down for the students’ safety.

Ralls said parents were notified after school officials noticed a police scene at a nearby house.

He said the lockdown lasted less than 30 minutes in the later part of the morning.
