FORT SMITH (KFSM) – Fort Smith police have put a man behind bars for crashing his white pick-up truck into a fence before ramming into a tree.
Police stated the accident happened late Saturday (September 5) night right before 10 p.m. The driver also hit a light pole and street sign. Donald Cummings lives in the home where the crash occurred in front of, he said this was the second time a vehicle has leveled his fence, since buying the home in 1989.
“I was sitting in my living room when I heard something hit,” Cummings said. ” I saw the red lights so I come outside to see what’s going on then I saw this white vehicle here.” Cummings also said that the driver did not appear hurt nor was his home damaged.
According to police, the driver was placed in handcuffs at the scene of the crime and charged with driving while intoxicated.
