BENTONVILLE (KFSM) — People from across the country and the world will be in Bentonville Saturday (Sept. 12) for the World Championship Squirrel Cook-Off.
From squirrel gumbo to squirrel pizza to squirrel lasagna, there will be hundreds of unique recipes from wild game chefs, camp cooks and foodies.
The cook-off event will go from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Bentonville Square and is free to attend.
Teams are made up of two or three people. They will have two and a half hours to make a main dish and side dish. The only rules are all the food has to be cooked on-site and the dish has to be made up 80% of squirrel.
First, second and third places will receive a cash reward.
