Garrett’s Blog: Daylight Diminishing

You may have noticed less and less sunlight after suppertime in the evening. The sunsets continue to arrive earlier as we near the Fall and Winter seasons.

We’ve lost about 2 hours since June and we’ll lose another 2 hours by December.

The day length for September 15th is around 12 hours and 24 minutes. The start of Fall or the “Autumnal Equinox” occurs on September 23rd. Equinox literally means equal day and equal night and our day length will be very close to 12 hours. It’s also the point when the Sun’s rays are directly over the Equator.

By the way, the clocks go back November 1st at 2am. It’s the best extra hour of sleep you’ll get all year!
