OZARK (KFSM) -- Oklahoma Gas and Electric reported 880 households and businesses without power on Thursday (Sept. 17) as of 3:40 p.m., according to its online power outage map.

Walmart was without power for almost three hours, and other businesses were affected as well.

Ozark resident Jesse Mason said he was in the dark at four different places.

"I was at IGA, and they lost power, but it come back on right away, and then I went to my office downtown, and it was out, and I went to my motel, Hillbilly Inn, and it was, and I went to my house on 26th street, and it was out," Mason said.

Ozark High School also lost power briefly during the first class of the day, but 11th grader, Kera Barton, said it didn't bother them at all.

"The power went out during like I think first hour, and it was off for like two minutes maybe, and then it came back on," Barton said. "We just worked right through it."

Mason said he was thankful the cooler weather made things a little easier.

"It stayed pretty cool," Mason said. "I mean, It was cool when it went out, and it wasn't unbearable."

An Ozark city official said the street department had received multiple phone calls of street lights without power. She also said a transformer had blown.

OG&E stated the issue was caused by an issue at a substation.
