FORT SMITH (KFSM) - The Boys and Girls Club of Van Buren held a gala last year that grabbed the attention of the national chapter. The success of it led them to bring it back this year, but with a unique twist - everyone wears a blue mask.
For a "5NEWS This Morning" segment that aired Saturday (September 26), anchor Daren Bobb spoke to Brittany Ransom. She said they introduced some changes to their 2nd Annual Great Futures Gala. The groups' revenue was hit hard after heavy rain caused the Field of Dreams to flood in early June.
The Blue Door Masquerade party is scheduled for Saturday, October 17th at 6:00 p.m. Among the events planned for the evening will be a dinner, auction, and live music.
Ransom also said they will offer blue masks in case a person doesn't own one. It will be held at the home of Roger and Melanie Key on 4059 Scott Farm Rd.
