FORT SMITH (KFSM) - The Susan G. Komen Foundation's Ozark chapter will hosts its annual walk on Saturday (October 3), and an organizer is stressing that most of the money raised stays in Northwest Arkansas and the River Valley.

For a "5NEWS This Morning" segment that aired Sunday (September 27), anchor Daren Bobb spoke to Teresa Jones with the Ozark affiliate. She said that seventy-five percent of the money goes back into helping those in the area, while the remaining quarter gets invested in research. Jones also said its important people know the funds stay in the 10 counties they cover.

The ninth annual "Paint the Park Pink" is scheduled for October 3rd. A survivors breakfast will lead the event's taking place throughout the day. Participants will do a one mile walk around the University of Arkansas, Fort Smith.
